  1. Our regional medical center is the first completely new hospital to be built in greater Cairo area in more than a decade. It has been designed and built from the ground up with the primary focus on you - our patients. Every consideration has been given to optimizing the patient and family experience, and to delivering the finest healthcare available - right here in Cairo region.

  2. The 40,000 square-meters campus of Egyptian American Medical Center is situated at Kilo 24.2 of Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road at intersection of Mehwar Road. Many of the patient rooms and public spaces within the hospital - including the soaring five-story glass atrium - offer spectacular views of the park and an abundance of natural light.

  3. The interior of the hospital spans more than 38,000 square-meters across five floors, including a total of 138 private patient rooms, 7 state-of-the-art operating rooms, a top-tier 20-room Emergency Department and a Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

  4. Egyptian American Medical Center has been designed to create an ideal environment for healing, where physicians, nurses, patients and families work together to ensure that the most innovative treatments are also the most personalized. Among the numerous amenities found in each of the 138 private rooms is a dedicated “family zone” with a sleeper sofa so loved ones can stay overnight, wall-to-wall windows, a 42″ flat-screen television, complimentary wi-fi and a hospitality-inspired room service menu.

  5. Additional design elements are based on the needs of our caregivers, including ample space to perform critical tasks, and patient lifts to reduce injuries to caregivers while moving patients. Each patient room even includes a small window to the corridor, allowing doors to be closed at night to minimize noise while still allowing nurses to check on patients.

  6. Egyptian American Medical Center will provide the full spectrum of top-tier medical and surgical services close to home. The facility is easily accessible from the area’s major roadways and features many spaces of free parking.

  7. Adjacent to the main medical center, and connected by an enclosed walkway, is the brand new Medical Arts Building. The 10,000-square-meters complementary structure will provide patients with convenient, on-site access to outpatient services such as physical rehabilitation; cancer care including radiation therapy and chemotherapy; and ambulatory surgery. It will also house 100-physician offices with specialties in neurosurgery, pain management and more.

  8. Construction of Egyptian American Medical Center will begin on January 1st, 2015. Before the opening, 8,000 pieces of equipment will be delivered and assembled, and the healthcare team will receive extensive training regarding every aspect of the new, state-of-the-art facility.

  10. Even the landscaping has been thoughtfully considered, and includes only indigenous plants that do not require additional care or watering beyond what Mother Nature brings. In fact, our storm water management system will result in a 30% reduction in water usage. Approximately one-half—of the campus is open green space, providing a tranquil setting for both patients and visitors.

  11. The Egyptian American Medical Center primary mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare for as many as we can reach.

  12. A comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, emergency care, and rehabilitation services offered on medical center campus.

  13. Outside of Cairo, Egypt, in 6 October City, the Egyptian American Medical Center will rise to create a stunning, state of the art medical facility on the Cairo-Alexandria Highway. The design is founded in the sun-rich environment and the desire to create an oasis of shade to harbor spaces of healing. The mass of the building is carved away, emulating erosion by desert winds, creating dramatic angles, and then separated in the middle to form the grand entry. Raised on an elevated plinth, the entry courtyard is a lush, shaded space with cascading shadows from the canopy above. The materials are limestone for the outer shell screened from the harsh heat and sun environment with deep recessed windows that allude to Egyptian graphical patterns.

  14. The interior/ main entry is an oasis of palm tree gardens and courtyards combined with entry drives. This oasis is then transferred into the building thru transparent glass walls that create lobbies for both inpatient and outpatient access.
The entire area is shaded with a continuous canopy that extends over the complex providing shade cover to outdoor and indoor spaces.

  15. With the latest in modern medical equipment, the EAMC will offer a full-service Acute Care Hospital, a Cancer Center, a 100-physician Medical Arts Building, a Conference/Education Center, a Wellness Center, along with many other services to serve the region.
